Isabella is inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's sketches. Leonardo is renowned for his masterful rendering of anatomy and ability to capture highly nuanced facial expressions. Beyond his technical competence he imbibes the subject with spirit, whether it is the abundant experience of age or diffident appeal of youthful innocence.

The name Isabella is of Spanish and Italian origin, and was a popular name during the Renaissance. The name is derived from the Hebrew name Elizabeth, meaning 'pledged to God'.
